PDP’s approach towards flood hit people discriminatory: Mir

KUPWARA, July 28: Pradesh Congress Committee president G A Mir has alleged that PDP’s approach towards the flood hit people of the State was discriminatory.
While addressing Congress convention at  Lolab today, the  PCC president attacked Modi led Govt at the Centre for failing  to ensure the safety of  people of the country. Referring to the Gurdaspur attack, Mir  castigated the Central  Govt and Punjab for not being  serious about the safety and security of the people.
PCC chief urged the Modi Govt to concentrate on the security of the country and  not waste time in hitting opponents and beating the drums of their so-called development agenda.
Hitting out at PDP led Government  in the State for being non- serious  about resolving issues  of  flood affected people like traders, businessmen, shopkeepers and common people,  PCC chief said that present dispensation has let down the people in every respect. He sought clarity from the State Government over relief and  rehabilitation of flood affected people.
The State Congress chief  said that people of the Valley feel sorry about Mufti Mohd Syeed joining hand with BJP, as they (people)   had had never expected such an alliance that too, between PDP and BJP, but it is now visible and indicative for all that different  slogans  of PDP and BJP  were a political prank  to woo the lure the voters in the Sept 2014 elections, aiming to take the reins of power enjoy luxurious life in palatial houses.
Describing approach of PDP and BJP towards the people as discriminatory,  Mir  said instead of addressing people’s issues, both PDP and BJP are indulging in mass discrimination and have adopted  pick and choose policy  in respect of  development of the State, relief and Rehabilitation of flood affected people, employment etc.
Referring to the alliance of PDP with Congress in 2005, PCC chief said  that  Congress Party has whole heartedly supported Mufti Mohd Sayeed as Chief Minister of J&K and provided every opportunity and assistance to him  for running the State but  today he is in alliance with BJP and  people of  the all the three regions know what it (PDP) is for BJP.
Terming Congress Party as an instrument of service to the people, PCC chief said Congress Party is committed for equivalent development of the State.
Prominent among those who addressed the gathering included MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dr, MLA Usman Majeed, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani,  Farooq Andrabi, Shoaib Nabi Lone, Hilal Ahmad Shah,  Haji Farooq Mir and Raja Farooq.
