JAMMU, Apr 4: Peace for Nation Church, Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) along with Polas Gill (Priest Incharge, Peace for Nation) today organized a peace march (religious procession) on the occasion of Good Friday and to mark the beginning of holy week leading up to Easter Sunday.
The procession passed through Valmiki Chowk, Green Belt Park, Hospital Road and Shivaji Chowk before culminating at its point of origination. A large number of Christian community members including men, women and children participated in the peace march.
Prominent among those who participated in the procession were Kavider Gupta (Ex-Deputy Chief Minister), Rahul (Corporator of JMC), Pushpinder Singh Charak (district general secretary, BJP Jammu South) and Vicky Mahajan (senior leader of DPAP).
Religious Procession Peace March on Good Friday is a Christian mourning day that commemorates Jesus Christ, who took form of a man, came to this world through a Virgin, led a holy life, taken our life’s sins and got crucified to save us. He came for mankind not for any single community. His everlasting love is for everyone. He gave his love’s account by sacrificing his own life.
Other who participated in the peace march included Camres David Babbloo (president, All India Masih Seva Dal), Rinku Gill (president, Civic Safai Karamchari Union, JMC), Jang Bahadur (Pradhan, Valmiki Biradari), Parshotam Mehra (vice chairman, OBC), Ramesh Khokhar, Karter, Ravel Bhatti, Dolat, Kashmira, Eric Nair, Simon, Thomas Khokhar, Joy Khokhar, Rohit, John Sabharwal and Christian community leaders.
