Peace process, development derailed in State: Hamid

JAMMU, Feb 19: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and coordinator for Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that peace process, developmental activities and impetus aimed at strengthening democratic institutions in the State all stand derailed due to lack of accountability.
Absence of good governance and accountability from the system has resulted in propagation of corruption and a ‘free for all’ situation is now persisting in the Government, he added.
He further said that the pace with which PDP had started development and winning trust of people in the State stands eroded in this regime, adding poor governance and lack of transparency has reverted the trend and every democratic institution is being undermined today.
“It was during the regime of PDP that people had free access to corridors of power and they also used to have a say in the development activities. The situation today is all together different due to which every decision is being imposed on people from the top”, Hamid said.
The PDP leader urged people not to fall in the trap laid by Coalition Government and strengthen hands of PDP patron and party chief to ensure that rule of law prevails in the State.
