Peddler held with 270 g charas, over Rs 1 lakh cash

JAMMU, Dec 26: Janipur Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 270 grams of heroin as well as a cash amount of Rs 1,09,040 from his possession.
Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 270 grams of heroin and cash Rs 109040 while on naka duty at Lohan Park, Paloura Jammu in the area under the jurisdictions of PS Janipur.
An agile team of Police Station Janipur constituted under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar and led by SHO Police Station Janipur Inspector Vijay Kumar laid a special naka after receiving inputs of drug smuggling on the basis of local intelligence generated by Jammu police along with Rajouri police.
During naka checking, the police team rounded up one suspect identified as Vanit Syal son of Om Parkash, resident of Androla (Rajouri), who was on his vehicle bearing registration number JK11A-4091. During search, 270 grams of heroin and a cash amount of Rs 1,09,040 was recovered from the accused.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 147/2022 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Janipur and the accused arrested.
Further investigation of the case was going on.
