KISHTWAR, June 1: Police here today arrested a notorious peddler of intoxicant substances and recovered about 60-70 gm of ‘cannabis like substance’ from him.
Cops from Police Station Kishtwar under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs, Dr. Ishan Gupta noticed suspicious activity by an individual who attempted to evade Police patrol but was apprehended by the cops and upon his personal search, a white polythene containing cannabis-like substance weighing about 60-70 gm was recovered.
The accused was identified as Imran Hussain, son of Gh Nabi Giri, resident of Pochhal Tehsil and District Kishtwar.
A case was registered against him in FIR No. 148/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Kishtwar.
SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom has issued a stern warning to drug syndicates urging them to cease their illegal activities or face severe legal consequences.
He has also asked the residents of Kishtwar to report any information regarding sale of intoxicants to PCR Kishtwar at 9906154100 and the informants’ identities will be kept confidential and they will be rewarded.
