Srinagar, Feb 14: Police today arrested a notorious drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered heroin from his possession.
Authorities said that a police party headed by Incharge Police Post Mirbazar during patrolling at Furrah near Railway Bridge intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing the Police party tried to flee the spot, however he was apprehended tactfully by the alert Police party.
“He has been identified as Ansar Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir resident of Peath Bugh Dialgam, Anantnag. During the search, 5 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession,” police said.
He was arrested and shifted to Police Station. Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 41/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Qazigund.
