Peddlers nabbed with charas

Srinagar, Mar 1: Police today arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances and cash from their possession.
Authorities stated that a police party, led by SHO Boniyar at a checkpoint established on Bernate Link Road Boniyar, intercepted two suspicious persons who attempted to flee but were tactfully apprehended.
“They have been identified as Mohd Rafiq Sheikh, son of Mohd Subhan, and Bashir Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool, both residents of Bernate Boniyar,” police said.
During the search, police recovered 48 grams of Charas and cash amounting to Rs 4600. “They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Boniyar.”
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Boniyar, and an investigation has been initiated.
