Pedestrian arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Dec 6: Panjtirthi police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a pedestrian and recovered 15 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
As per police spokesman, based on reliable information, a team from Panjtirthi police post laid a naka at Circular Road and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 15 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him on the spot.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started to ascertain the source and destination of this drug consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Panjtirthi police post SI Vikas Hans made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Ajay Bhat, SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
