RAMBAN, Jan 31: A rashly driven truck here today crushed a pedestrian at Mehad area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per reports the rashly driven truck bearing registration number HR-55AQ1187 crushed Mohammed Yousuf, 60, son of Abrahim, resident of Charna, Ganote, district Ramban.
The deceased was a labourer and he died on the spot after the truck crushed him while he was crossing the road.
SHO Police Station Ramban, Inspector Vijay Kotwal said the truck was seized and the driver was taken into custody.
A case in this regard was registered at Police Station, Ramban and investigation started.
After postmortem, the body was handed over to the family members of the deceased for last rites.
