Pedestrian held with illicit liquor pouches

JAMMU, Jan 10: Domana police arrested a pedestrian along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Domana police station laid a naka near Machine Domana and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking on suspicious grounds.
On seeing police cops, the pedestrian tried to escape from the spot, but the cops chased and nabbed him near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 52 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Bhan Singh, son of Hans Raj, a resident of Machine Domana, at present Nagrota near Toll Post.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native area for sale among the masses for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 12/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Domana police station and investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Domana police station Inspector Rajinder Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana Surinder Sharma, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
