KATHUA, Feb 16: One person was killed and six others were injured when a Scorpio vehicle hit a horse cart and a pedestrian on Haripur road in tehsil Marheen of Kathua district.
As per police reports a Scorpio vehicle bearing Registration Number, DL11CA1589 hit a horse cart and then a pedestrian on Haripur road. A pedestrian walking beside the road was killed in accident whereas six person travelling on horse cart were injured. The horse was also killed in accident.
The deceased was identified as Mulkh Raj, son of Chuni Lal resident of Haripur. The injured were shifted to Hiranagar Hospital. They were identified as Hanief, Bhago, Rano, Reshma, Ahmed and a child Govind resident of Haripur area. The child Govind, son of Satya Pal was referred to GMC Jammu in serious condition. The police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver. A case under relevant sections of the law was registered in Hiranagar Police Station.
