JAMMU, May 27: A pedestrian was knocked to death by a motorcyclist in Qasim Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bhatindi police post.
As per police sources, a pedestrian namely Mohammad Bashir (35), son of Dost Mohammad of district Rajouri, presently residing in Qasim Nagar was hit by a rashly driven motorcycle near his residence this morning.
He was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
After completing legal formalities, the body has been handed over to family members for last rites.
The motorcyclist has been arrested, while a case under relevant Sections has been registered in this regard at Bhatindi police post and investigation started.
