SAMBA, Dec 17: A pedestrian died at SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana in Samba district today after he was hit by a speedy truck.
Police said the truck bearing Registration Number JK08 -7211 hit a pedestrian near SIDCO Chowk, Bari Brahmana as a result of which pedestrian died on the spot.
The vehicle was carrying the supply of Army towards Manadal Phallian area of district Jammu when the mishap took place .Meanwhile, Bari Brahmana police have taken cognizance of matter and driver of vehicle identified as Uttam Chand, son of Zakir Mal of Sataka Chak, Ramgarh has been taken into custody .However, the identity of deceased has not been ascertained as yet.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started further investigation.
