JAMMU, May 16: A woman pedestrian was knocked to death today by a mini-bus in Arnia area of city outskirts.
“An old woman namely Parkasho Devi (70) wife of late lal Chand, resident of Rathana Camp (Arnia) was hit and seriously injured by a mini-bus at Rathana Camp while she was on the way to her home on foot,” Police sources said.
They said the grievously injured woman was immediately rushed to CHC RS Pura for medical treatment and after providing first-aid, she was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where she succumbed at about 10:45 AM.
“After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at Police Station Arnia and further investigation initiated,” sources added.
