JAMMU, Apr 22: A pedestrian was knocked to death by a speeding truck in Narwal area of city outskirts today.
According to police sources, a speeding truck hit a pedestrian namely Mohinder Singh (60) son of Narayana Singh, resident of Bharakh (Reasi) at Yard number 6, Narwal in outskirts of Jammu this morning, resulting into his on the spot death.
They said the body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and after postmortem, handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. “In this connection, a case has been registered under relevant sections in concerned police station and further investigation started,” sources said, adding, the vehicle involved in the accident was seized but its driver managed to flee from the crime spot.
