PEECC demands representation in PDD re-organization committee

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 22: All J&K Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee (PEECC) has expressed displeasure over composition of committee for re-organisation of PDD.
The PDD employees today held a meeting of union representatives from Jammu under the leadership of Er Jaipal Sharma, Chairman PEECC, and expressed displeasure over the composition of the committee constituted vide Govt order no-164-Pdd OF 2019 dated-20/09/2019 to prepare a comprehensive proposal for apportionment /reorganisation of Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department between UT of Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh.
They held that the members of committee have been chosen selectively to toe the line of the unilateral move of the Government. “It is beyond the realms of sane understanding that the members retiring even before the set deadline of October 5 for submitting the proposal are chairing and other majority of members of the committee are also retiring within six months, which speaks volumes about the seriousness of Government to address the concerns of the agitating employees and cast aspersions on involving the relevant stakeholders in a transparent manner who have served the department over next 30 years ,” they explained.
The meet also alleged that there was no representative from different cadres in the committee and there was no explicit involvement of the union as members of the committee. All over the country there have been reforms in a transparent manner and most importantly the leadership of employee cadres in involved from scratch so as to arrive at a logical transition plan, the meet added.
The PEECC strongly questions the intention of the Government and asked for re-constitution of the committee by involving employee representatives from all cadres, particularly from the Power Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee, which has been agitating relentlessly for safeguarding the interests of the employees.
The meeting was attended by Er Jaipal Sharma, President Diploma Engineers Association and Chairman PEECC; Er M P Singh, Ex President JKEEGA; Er Sachin, Convenor Forum of Engineers; Er Sushma Parihar, Gen Secty FOJE; Ajaz Kazmi, Gen Secty PPEU; Sanjeev Bali, President PPEU; Jasbir Singh, President ITI; Gurmeet Singh, President Central Non Gazetted Employees Union; H D Singh, Technical Employees Federation; Kulbir Singh, Secretary EEU; Balbir Singh, President, Draftsman Association; Anil Slathia, Lineman Union; Tarun Gupta, PDD Daily Wager/Need Based Employees Union and others.
