JAMMU, Dec 16: Power Employees and Engineers under the banner of (PEECC) an amalgam comprising of various Unions of PDD, has resolved to wage a struggle for the redressal of pending issues of the Power employees as per agreement during strike of December 2021.
Led by Sachin Tickoo, president JKEEGA and convenor PEECC, Jaipal Sharma, chairman JKPEECC & president DEA, Shakti Gupta chairman PPEU, Koushal Sharma, PPEU, Tarun Gupta, president youth wing and others the members during a meeting held in Jammu discussed the status of the issues that were committed to be resolved by Government in the agreement signed between JKPEECC and the Government.
While welcoming the move of the Chief Engineer JPDCL to issue the combined seniority of the PDL/TDL and other workers on the basis of their dates of engagement as per the rules and vogue, they sought that maximum vacancies should be filled through DPC at an earliest so that no further delay is done. The members also spoke on the seniority of Tech-III framed by the Chief Engineer, JPDCL.
PEECC appealed Principal Secretary PDD that number of vacant positions of ministerial and executive cadre are vacant and due to non-availability of Managing Director JKPTCL, since last three months the DPC of the UT level cadres has not been done and people are at the verge of retirement despite vacancies.
Despite creation of the posts of the CPAO/AOs none of them have been deputed to the Corporations overburdening the existing CPAOs and affecting the management of the finance related matters of the twenty thousand employees.
Re-constitution of PDD Employees Welfare Fund disbursement committee has not been done till date , despite the fact that the employees own salary contribution of over 5 crores is lying with the department and next to kin of deceased are still suffering.
Further at present there are nearly 300 posts of JE, 150 of AEs, 100 of AEE, 25 of Xens, 4- SEs, 4 CEs and 3 Executive Director, 2 MDs which are lying vacant since months thereby badly affecting the administrative efficiency as one Engineer is manning three charges on additional charge system. The Junior Engineers are still awaiting promotions as AEs, whereas their counterparts of even 2015 Batch in PWD/ Jal Shakti Department have been promoted as AEs.
