Srinagar, June 13: The former Chairman of the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE), Mushtaq Ahmad Peer who was arrested last year for selling questions papers of the Common Entrance Test-2012 is desperate for bail as he approached Jammu and Kashmir High Court seeking his bail on any condition to be imposed by the court.
Peer who is accused in CET-2012 paper scam has moved a bail application under Section 498 of CRPF before the High Court through his advocate Zaffar Ahmad Qureshi seeking bail on any condition which the High Court may impose on him.
The Division Bench Comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Hasnain Masoodi while hearing the plea of Peer’s counsel issued notice to Senior Additional Advocate General and also asked senior advocate of the High Court and amicus Bashir Ahmad Bashir to file their objection to the bail application.
Peer who is presently lodging in Central Jail Srinagar was arrested in November 2013 after he was found involved in selling of papers of CET-2012 and was booked in an offence under Section 420,406,201 and 120 of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Last year he had also moved to trial court for granting of bail which was rejected.
