Peerzada, Wani review status of R&B projects

SRINAGAR, July 9: Minister for Haj, Auqaf, Floriculture and Public Enterprises Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed and Minister for Roads & Buildings Abdul Majid Wani today chaired a meeting convened to review the status of projects being executed by different agencies under PMGSY and R&B sectors in Kokernag constituency.
Highlighting the importance of road communication they said that much stress was laid on timely completion of the road projects being executed by different agencies under PMGSY and R&B sectors in the constituency. The concerned executing agencies were also asked to accelerate the pace of work on the projects maintaining quality of work and ensuring their timely completion for the benefit of the people. The concerned were also asked for taking up some vital projects of public importance under projectization, besides preparing Detailed Project Reports of some roads for connecting left-out habitations under PMGSY.
The meeting was informed that 5 new foot bridges to be completed at a cost of Rs. 4 crore, would be taken up in the constituency for which for an amount of Rs. 60 lakh has already been earmarked. These foot bridges would be constructed at Nabook, Guridraman, Mathindoo, Chartenzi and Wandiwalgam over Gowran and Bringi Nallah.
The meeting was informed that out of 39 schemes, 25 schemes stand completed by laying 47 km fair-weather and 38 km blacktopped road connecting 33 habitations and spending Rs. 42.80 crore under PMGSY on these projects. As many as 40 km road would also be constructed this year in the constituency under the scheme, the meeting was informed.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Tanveer Jehan, Chief Engineer, R&B, Kashmir Satish Razdan, Chief Engineer, PMGSY Vinod Tikoo, Managing Director, JKPCC T. R Bhagat, besides senior Engineers of R&B and JKPCC attended the meeting.
