PEEU discuss problems of Power employees

KATHUA, Feb 6: Provincial Electrical Employees Union(PEEU) district Kathua held a meeting at Hiranagar today in which various issues confronting the power employees were discussed.
As per a release, the meeting was chaired by Hardarshan Singh, president, Unit Hiranagar. The office bearers of Samba and Kathua also participated in the meeting who included Joginder Kumar, Som Raj, Surinder Singh, Amar Jeet, Kuldeep Kumar, Mohinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar, from Samba, while Suresh Sharma, Vinod Kumar Gupta, Yash Pal Raina and others from Kathua districts.
The meeting expressed its satisfaction over the Government decision in constituting DPCs at Circle level in all the districts and termed it an outcome of the protracted struggle launched by the union under leadership of PC Sharma.
It also complimented the then Principal Secretary Power, A K Mehta and Sanjeev Rathore S C Circle Kathua for the same.
Hardarshan said that with the constitution of DPC the employees in the remotest corner will get benefited and demanded that employees’ grievances in respect of welfare fund shall also be settled at Circle 4 level.
He also demanded the settlement of long pending demands like implementation of SRO 149 of 1973, retrospective effect to already regularized daily wagers onwards 1996 in terms of SRO 64 of 1994, amendment in service recruitment rules of PDD, regularization of daily wagers and conduct of DPC for promotion purposes.
