PEEU holds convention at Bani, lists demands

KATHUA, Nov 4: Provincial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) organized a convention of the PDD employees of Tehsil Bani  under the leadership of provincial president of the Union, P C Sharma.
During the convention the long pending and genuine demands of PDD and PDC employees were highlighted.
All the speakers including Darshan Singh Verma, vice president, Pawan Kumar, general secretary, Abdul Gani president Sub Unit, Bani of the Union showed their resentment against the Government for not conceding the long pending demands of PDD employees.
While speaking on the occasion, P C Sharma said the initiative of Government in connection with regularization of daily wagers is vague as the Government has not come out with a clear cut policy in this regard.
He said the daily wagers are perturbed and they wanted to know whether their services are being regularized and the date of effect etc. They also wanted an announcement on the enhancement of wages to casual and other daily rated workers till their regularization orders are issued.
He warned that these workers be regularized immediately and nothing short of regularization is acceptable to them. He also demanded immediate release of wages of all need based workers. He demanded that the enhanced daily wages be implemented for all daily rated workers. Further he demanded releasing the technical grade (5000-8000 old) in terms of SRO 149 to all ITI and experienced non ITI employees, amendment is service recruitment rules of PDD, reorganization of the Department, amendment in employees Welfare Scheme  as per proposal of Union and opening of new EMO &RE Division in Basohli.
He warned agitation in case the demands were not settled immediately.
