JAMMU, Mar 9 : The Prov-incial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) held a protest demonstration in front of EM&RE Division Gandhi Nagar today demanding implementation of SRO 59 which has been implemented in all the divisions of PDD except Gandhi Nagar.
The protest was led by PC Sharma, Chairman of the Union. The protesters raising slogans in support of their demands warned to intensify agitation in case the authorities failed to implement the SRO.
P C Sharma said that the SRO meant for Non ITI employees to give them technical grade was not implemented in PDD though the same was implemented in Works Department in 1990. Later it was implemented in PDD in Kashmir province in 1995 and not in Jammu, he added.
However, after the struggle of the employees the Chief Engineers after getting order copy of SRO implemented the same in Jammu but the Gandhi Nagar M&RE Division is the only exception where the order was not implemented till date.
He said the Union has given an ultimatum to the Department that in case the SRO was not implemented by today it will be forced to protest. He warned to launch agitation in case the implementation of SRO was further delayed.
The other leaders of the Union who participated in the demonstration included Darshan Singh Verma senior vice president, Bishan Singh district president Jammu, Rajan Singh and Janak Sing etc.
