JAMMU, June 7: Provincial Electric Employees Union (PEEU), District Unit Jammu, today held a protest demonstration in office complex of Development Commissioner, Power, Jammu, against the Government for not considering their genuine demands.
A large number of employees of Power Development Department (PDD) participated in the demonstration, which was led by Provincial president, PC Sharma.
While addressing the demonstrators, Sharma reiterated their demands like retrospective effect to the already regularized daily wagers, releasing technical grades (5000-8000) to all ITI and technical employees in terms of SRO 149 of 1973, amendment in service recruitment rules of 1981, regularization of daily wagers with a concrete policy as done in terms of SRO 64 and convening of DPC at all level.
He said that these important issues have already been submitted to the Government up to CM level but it is strange that the employees of PDD, whose portfolio is lying with CM himself, are deprived of their just and genuine demands.
He also flayed the Government for not creating even a single post in the department since 1981 while the work load has been increased 200 times. This is directly affecting the duties and promotions of the employees, he added.
He warned the Government not to test the patience of PDD employees and appealed the CM, Omar Abdullah to intervene personally for resolving their issues.
