While speaking to media, P.C Sharma condemned the Government especially Principal Secretary Finance for not making any budgetary provision for the payment of 3405 need / casual labor workers of PDD Department in new budget recently announced.
Sharma said that these workers are working on crucial assignment like Lineman and SBA and their wages from years together i.e five to seven years have not been released. They were in hope that their wages would be released in new budget but after the announcement of new budget they got discouraged as they are on the verge of starvation and they are not in a position to continue education of their children due to lack of money.
He strongly demanded and appealed to the Governor, S P Malik and Advisor K.K Sharma to release the pending wages of these poor workers so that the families of these workers be saved from starvation.
Sharma said that in Kashmir province daily wagers of PDD engaged even after ban i.e May 2011 were regularized all in terms of SRO 381 as per the Cabinet Decision No. 151/23/2012.But the daily wagers of district. Kathua have not been regularized who have been engaged since 1995. Union strongly condemned such discrimination with daily wagers of Kathua and demanded creation of 400 posts of class IV cadre in Kathua district Immediately.
Sharma said that the Union supports the ongoing agitation of need based workers of PDD and other Departments. He appealed to the Government not to test the patience of these workers and settle their demands on priority.
