JAMMU, Nov 10: Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension is holding one day camp on Digital Life Certificate (DLC) in the premises of SBI Cantonment on November 12, here as part of nationwide campaign.
The camp is being organised to create awareness among the Central Govt pensioners in use of this technology for submission of their life certificate to the pension disbursing banks in the month of November (pensioners aged 80 years in October) to ensure continuity of their pension in the bank concerned.
The pensioners would be trained in use of technology and also help in generating DLC.
The CGPWA’s general secretary, KB Jandial said that the camp will start at 11am and the Department has deputed a team, headed by its senior consultant, Ramanjit Kour. He appealed to all members of the Association and other Central Govt pensioners to attend the camp and get benefited for submission of DLC to their respective pension disbursing banks.
Jandial further said that those desirous of generating DLC at the camp must come with Aadhaar No, Pension Bank A/C number, PPO number and Android mobile.
The Ministry headed by the Minister of State Dr Jitender Singh has brought about “ease of living” for the pensioners who had to stand in banks for long for submission of the physical certificates.
Initially, it started generating ‘Jeevan Pramaan Patra’ by using biometrics but found difficulty in many cases in capturing finger biometrics due to aging. The Ministry then collaborated with MeiTY and developed a face authentication technology based on UIDAI Aadhaar database that made it possible to generate DLC on any android smart mobile phones.
