Pensioners call on Advisor, highlight demands

JAMMU, Dec 4: A deputation of All J&K Pensioners & Civil Society Association and J&K Retired Officers Forum led by their respective Presidents S. Ajit Singh Adyal and I.D Soni met K.K Sharma, Advisor to the Governor S.P Malik and submitted him a memorandum of their demands.
These demands included one qualifying age of 20 years to get pension as is there in the case of Central Government employees, medical health insurance facilities for pensioners, medical allowances should be enhanced to Rs 3000 per month and arrears of the pensioners from the year 2016 to be paid to them in one go.
More demands of the deputation included removal of anomalies of all those State govt employees and pensioners who possess the criteria similar to that of the clerical staff as has already been done by the Government in favour of Patwaris and others.
More demands included time bound promotions for drivers, conductors and cleaners of J&KSRTC and pensioners having retired after working on higher posts should be given higher pensions.
After listening to the deputation, the Advisor said that he will look into the demands and will try to settle them.
