Pensioners & Civil Society Association highlights issues, demands

JAMMU, Mar 31: A meeting of All J&K Pensioners & Civil Society Association was held under the chairmanship of S Ajit Singh Adyal, president of the Association for discussing the issues and demands of the Pensioners.
In the meeting, N D Sharma, general secretary of the Association, said that demands of the Pensioners were taken up with the State Government for consideration of the same but nothing was done in this regard by the concerned authorities. He urged the Government to settle these demands, which include removal of disparity in pension payment of one rank one pension payment formula caused due to four types of qualifying service pension categories of 33, 30, 28 and 20 years qualifying service, which needs to be consolidated into one category of qualifying service as has been done by the Central Government.
The meet also highlighted other demands, which include release of arrears of pension, increase of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000, introduction of Health Medical Insurance Scheme, removal of disparity in time bound in promotions in favour of Drivers, Conductors and Cleaners of J&K SRTC / erstwhile GTU staff and inclusion of Drivers / Operational Staff of J&K SRTC in the category of essential services like those of the PDD, Medical and PHE.
S Ajit Singh Adyal urged upon the Governor of J&K State, S P Malik and Advisor K K Sharma to issue instructions to the concerned authorities to settle the pensioners problems.
The participants who spoke on the occasion, included Suram Singh Chib, O P Sharma, Ved Parkash Sharma, Sukhvinder Singh Charak, O P Lakhnotra, Ajit Parkash and Jasbir Singh Arora.
