Pensioners demand hike in medical allowance

JAMMU, Aug 19: All J&K State Pensioners Associations held a meeting under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Abrol, Association General Secretary and discussed their issues.
Speakers in the meeting said that medical allowance of J&K pensioners should be made at par with those of Central Government.
They said that pensioners in J&K are getting Rs. 300 as monthly medical allowance while this amount is Rs. 3000 for the pensioners of Central Government.
Association members also demanded release of pending DA installment to pensioners.
The Association also made a memorandum containing these demands and sent it to the Lieutenant Governor of J&K for redressal.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Jagdish Dogra, Ram Das Bhagat, Des Raj Sharma, M.L Sharma, Mohd. Shafi, K. Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Puran Chand Khajuria, Ashok and Bhushan.
