Pensioners demand Medical Allowance at par with Ex-Legislators

JAMMU, May 30: A meeting of the Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association, Jammu Province, was convened under the chairmanship of Y S Jamwal, its president, to discuss the long pending demands of the pensioners and try their best to get these redressed from Governor’s administration at the earliest.
The Association members expressed great dismay over the State Govt administration with regard to non enhancement of medical allowance till this day where as the various pensioners associations are continuously raising this issue.
Mr Jamwal alleged that the State Govt was deliberately twisting this long pending demand on one or the other pretext. Reiterating that demand to enhance medical allowance in favour of Pensioners from Rs 300/- to Rs 10,000/- per month as being disbursed to the Ex Legislators, he stressed that there should be no difference between the pensioner employee and pensioner Legislator .
Mr Jamwal also urged the Governor administration to extend the facilities under Ayushman Bharat (Medical Health Scheme) of India to those pensioners whose annual pension is less than Rs 5 lakh on the analogy of BPL Category people of India so that they may avail free treatment in case of specialize diseases viz cancer, heart problems, renal failure, accident etc as notified by the Govt of India.
