Pensioners demand release of DA

JAMMU, Jan 11: J&K pensioners have expressed concern over the prolonged delay in the release of 3 percent DA which is due from July 2024 and has already been paid to the employees of Central Government and Ladakh UT.
In a handout, J&K pensioners have urged the LG, Manoj Sinha and CM, Omar Abdullah to release the DA.
They have also demanded enhancing of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month.
“In view of sky rocketing prices of commodities and high dearness in the market, we are facing great hardships and are unable to sustain livelihood,” the pensioners claimed.
They said that enhancement in medical allowance should be done in view high cost of medicines in the market.
The pensioners also demanded release of 18 month arrears of DA which held up for COVID outbreak period.
