JAMMU, Feb 27: Seeking release of 6th Pay Commission arrears in one installment and nine percent DA, merger of 50 percent DA in basic salary and enhancement in the Medical Allowance, All J&K Pensioners Association Jammu has threatened to launch vigorous protests throughout the State if the Government failed to concede its demands.
The warning was issued during a working committee meeting of the Association, held under the leadership of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Poshpuri.
While addressing the meet, general secretary Madan Lal Abrol accused the Central and State Government of not solving genuine grievances of pensioners and employees. He said that the Government has no money to release arrears of pensioners but for increasing salary of Legislators and Member Parliaments.
He also rued that no relaxation was given to the senior citizens in the Railway budget, presented by the Government yesterday. A particular section of the people is ruling the roost and amassing huge wealth while no relief is being provided to employees and pensioners, he alleged.
The meeting was attended by Mukand Lal Sharma, Mohd Shafi, Dev Raj, Yoginder Ghai, K L Langer, Bushan Pargal, Sudesh Spolia, S D Verma, Suraj Parkash, Madan Sharma, Ram Paul, Yoginder Singh and Mohinder Singh.
