JAMMU, Feb 24: A meeting of the Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association, Jammu Province (MULBA) was convened under the chairmanship of Y S Jamwal, its president, here today.
Members of the Association expressed great concern over the Traffic Department for not bothering to control over charging of Auto Fare. “The auto fare is charged as per meter readings in other States but in J&K there is no control and it seems that the Traffic Deptt has become failure in it,” they said and added that middle class, old age and sick employee/pensioner were the worst suffers of this as they were not able to hire an auto on genuine fare
The Association urged the Governor S P Malik to take cognizance of this matter and issue necessary directions to the Traffic Department in the best interest of general public
Those who attended the meeting, included B S Jamwal (Advocate), B D Verma, R K Gupta, K G Khajuria, Pritam Singh, Tarsem Lal, Daya Singh, M L Gupta, Jawahar Lal Sharma and others.
