Pensioners for release of 18 months DA, hike in MA

SRINAGAR, July 27: A meeting of Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society was held at Ganderbal under the chairmanship of Mohd Subhan Dar, patron of the organisation for district Ganderbal.
During the meeting the members highlighted their demands and urged UT and Central Government to release of last 18 months DA arrears besides increase Medical Allowances from Rs 300/to Rs1000/ as per the pattern of Central Government employees.
It also demanded that the monthly pension be enhanced from the age of 65 years instead of 80 years which have been done by various Governments in the country. The members also urged that price hike in all the essential living items be controlled and bulk quantity of ration be kept available on fair price shops/ration depots so that public may not suffer.
The meeting was also attended and addressed by State level members of Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society who included Mir Ghulam Rasool, its chairman, Sheikh Ghulam Mohi ud Din, general secretary, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, district president, Ganderbal, Syed Mohammad Chasti, secretary Ganderbal, Ghulam Mohammad Raina Kangan, vice president, Ganderbal and Ab Rahman Hajam secretary, Kangan . Besides, D N Sadhu, P N Raiina, Baldave Raj Sharma also attended the meeting through virtual mode on Zoom App.
