Pensioners highlight demands

UDHAMPUR, Apr 6:  To highlight their long pending demands, J&K State Pensioners Association organized a meet at Mini Stadium Udhampur under the presidium of Mukund Lal Sharma and Madan Lal Abrol.
While addressing , Mukund Lal Sharma said that  the Association was struggling for the last four years  in connection with  the problems  relating  to implementation  of 6th Pay Commission  but unfortunately  the State Government had shown  no responsible  response  till date. The Government enhanced the salary of Legislators with three times hike perks amounting to more than ninety thousand rupees per months but showed the utter neglect toward the pensioners and State employees, he lamented.
Madan Lal Abrol also flayed the Government for not accepting the genuine demands of the pensioners and warned an agitation if there was no response towards their issues.
The meet highlighted the demands, which included additional quantum of the pension  in favour  of State pensioners who  attain the age  of 80,85,90,95,100  years on the analogy of  Central Government pensioners, release of  pending  6 percent DA, enhancement of    Medical Allowance  from Rs 300  to Rs 1000, one rank one pension scheme  in favor of State  pensioners  on the pattern of defense personals, etc.
Those who addressed in the meeting, included Bodh Raj Sharma, Jaswant Singh, Sain Dass, Lehar Singh Jasrotia, Mani Ram, Basheer Ahmed Sumbria and others.
