JAMMU, Nov 9: Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners’ Association, Jammu Province today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, BS Jamwal, wherein the speakers highlighted the demands of the Association.
While speaking on the occasion, KG Khajuria, BD Verma, YS Jamwal and ML Gupta criticized the State Government for least bothering to realize the miseries and hardship of poor pensioners by not releasing 10% and 7% DA installments due from January and July, 2014, respectively.
The speakers also criticized the Government for not paying remaining portion of arrears of 6th Central Pay Commission. They alleged that Omar Abdullah remained soft towards the welfare of his Cabinet ministers, legislatures and ex-legislatures by enhancing their perk and allowances while he did not bother to enhance the medical allowance of pensioners to Rs 1000 that too when the cost of living is becoming dearer day by day.
Keeping all this in mind, the Association appealed all the Municipal and Urban Local Bodies pensioners to think deeply while casting their votes in the upcoming Assembly elections.
