Pensioners highlight demands, grievances

JAMMU, Dec 16: A meeting of the J&K (UT) Pensioners and Civil Society Association Jammu was held here under the Chairmanship of S Ajit Singh, President of the Association, for discussing the issues and demands of the pensioners.
In the meeting, the Pensioners urged upon the Govt of J&K to consider their genuine and just demands, which are lying pending before the higher authorities since long time.
The main demands highlighted in the meeting, included; Medical Insurance scheme for the pensioners or increase in their Medical Allowance to Rs 1000/- as per Central Govt, inclusion of Pensioners under Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme, One Rank One Pension formulae by fixing 20 year qualifying service , removal of disparity in pension of the Pensioners who had worked against higher posts but getting pension for the lower post due to non-regularization of their pay against the higher posts, authorizing of State Treasury Officers to make payments of pension dues as per formulation number II as per Govt Order number 222F of2018, dated 24.04.2018, permitting to Pensioners to send their application forms for revised Pension dues w.e.f. 01.01.2016 as per Central Government pattern and establishment of Complaint Redressal Cell for Pensioners for removal of their problems in a time bound manner like Central Govt Defence Pensioners,
The participants, who spoke during the meeting, included N D Sharma, N H Malik, Janak Raj Gupta, Suram Sigh Jasrotia, Tirath Ram Padha, Jagdish Raj Dogra, Rangeel Singh, S C Gandotra, J R Khajuria, S K Dubey and Darshan Kumar Sharma.
