JAMMU, May 14: A meeting of All Jammu & Kashmir Pensioners & Civil Society Association was held here today under the chairmanship of S Ajit Singh Adyal, president of the Association.
In the meeting, the Association general secretary N D Sharma pointed out some shortfalls in the implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations in the State.
Stressing that these shortcomings are required to be amended suitably by the State in the existing rules, he opined that the Treasury Officers and J&K Bank Managers should be authorised to allow full pension on interim basis pension under formulation number I and II of the Govt order No 222-F of 2018 dated 24.04.2018 as old pensioners of 4th and 5th CPC are getting less pension due to the operation of formulation No I allowed for payments to the Drawing Officers.
He further suggested that arrears payments of revised pay and pension with effect from 1.1.2016 should be allowed to be drawn in one installment as has been done by the Govt in the case of Government employees
Further, he added, the Pre 1-1-2006 pensioners net qualifying service should be sanctioned as 20 years with effect from 1.1.2006 as has been done by the Central Government for their employees and. Pensioners.
Stating that disparity in respect of time bound promotion in favour of erstwhile GTU/SRTC drivers, conductors and cleaners as per SRO 14 of 1996 and the DA and grade pay has not been equated with the Government employees, besides the anomalies in the pay scales of clerical staff have not been settled by the Government so far, the Association urged the Government to settle this issue on priority basis.
The Pensioners Association also demanded that the Medical Allowance being paid @ Rs 300 per month should be revised to Rs 2000 per month.
The Association appealed the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to look into the genuine demands of the employees and pensioners for early settlement of the same.
The participants, who spoke in the meeting, included N D Sharma, R S Jamwal, Jagdish Kumar Sharma, Mohd Shaft, Prof O P Sharma, Darshan Kumar, Prithvi Raj Singh Salathia, B K Sawhney and Rakesh Thakur.
