Pensioners raise demands

JAMMU, Dec 25: The J&K UT Pensioners & Civil Society Association here today organised a meeting under the chairmanship of S. Ajit Singh, Association president.
Speaking in the meeting N.D Sharma, General Secretary of the Association demanded One Rank One Pension formula to be made applicable by fixing 20 years as qualifying service instead of 33, 30 and 28 years.
He also demanded Ayushman Bharat Insurance Scheme for pensioners getting pension less than Rs. 8 lakh.
More demands of the Association included hike in medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000, removal of disparity in pensions as higher ranking officers are getting less pensions than their subordinates. Establishment of complaint redressal cell for pensioners and removal of their problems in a time bound manner were also demanded.
N.H Malik, Janak Raj Gupta, Suram Singh Jasrotia and others were also present on the meeting.
