Pensioners, senior citizens blame successive Govts for miseries

GANDERBAL, Nov 16: J&K Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society and People’s Welfare Society (PWF) Ganderbal in a joint meeting here today discussed various problems of the people in general and the working class as well as pensioners in particular.
Mir Ghulam Rasool, a trade union leader and patron of the Pensioners Society chaired the meeting. It expressed grave concern over price rise of essential commodities, capping of subsidised LPG cylinders, increasing corruption and poverty. It alleged that the wrong policies of successive State and Central Governments were responsible for the same.
The meeting while accusing the politicians of ruining the State said that to hoodwink the masses they were still shedding the crocodile tears. It while taking Government to task for the plight of the people especially the educated unemployed youth said 42,000 posts are lying vacant in various Government Departments due to the callousness of the Government.
The meeting demanded construction of fly over from Bihama Chowk to Dadarhama Chowk, construction of Ganderbal fruit Mandi, Bus Stand and 200 bedded hospital.
The meeting among others was addressed by president of the Pensioners Society Mohammed Shaban Dar its members, Ghulam Moh-ud-Din, G A Bhat, and president PWS Abdul Qayoom Wani.
