JAMMU, Jan 28: J&K Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society has said that though the process of formation of e-cards under Ayushman Bharat scheme was started many months back but strangely till date e- cards / Golden cards have not been sent to the people despite the fact such exercise has been made in the past before its inauguration.
In an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha the J&K State Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society,  president, Mir Gh Rasool Butvani, D.  N. Sadhu its State secretary and other members have requested him for issuing directions to the concerned for immediate issuance of Ayushmann cards to the people of J& K so that old age persons, retired pensioners, senior citizens and other persons having serious ailments can get the benefits of the scheme launched by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
They said scheme was inaugurated and launched by the PM for the residents of J&K for free treatment up to five lakh Rs in 218 hospitals of J& K and 24000  hospitals both Government and private all over India. For this purpose e- cards and Golden cards Issued by Ayushmann Bharat have to be produced before medical authority for getting treatment but it is strange and shocking that till date people of J& K in general ,senior citizens, retired, old age persons in particular are waiting for cards for which an amount of Rs 100/-  50/- as per choice of concerned preparing agencies have been collected for each card. However an amount of Rs 30/- for plain cards and 60/- for coloured cards have been  recovered by the employees deputed for this purpose on 20 centers set up by the Government on October 8 last year.
The Ayushmann cards haven’t been received by the residents of J&K till date on enquiries from CSC, they ask for a message of Ayushmann Bharat which the people have not received. Besides the phone numbers mentioned in the advertisement of Government for enquiries such as, 1800233554 /14555 are not in use which is also a matter of concern, they added.
