KATHUA, Dec 16: The irate residents blocked the Jammu, Pathankote National Highway this afternoon for two hours in protest against the water scarcity in Mirpur -Hiranagar.
The irate people assembled at the road and disrupted the movement of vehicular traffic on NH for two hours. Later senior civil and police officers reached the spot along with Executive Engineer PHE Division Kathua and restored the traffic on the highway.
The Executive Engineer assured the people that the Department will put water tankers in service till piped water is restored to the village.
