KATHUA, Feb 25: The irate residents of Rajbagh today staged a demonstration and blocked Jammu- Pathankote National Highway for half an hour at Rajbagh in protest against the power failure in the area and callousness of PDD authorities towards them.
The protesters raising slogans against the PDD squatted on NH at Rajbagh and disrupted the movement of vehicular traffic for half an hour.
The protesters said that they face total blackout for days together after the burning down of the local transformer.
They warned to continue road blockade till the problem is solved. However later the people lifted the blockade on the intervention of SDPO Chadwal Diwakar Singh who with SHO Rajbagh and other police officers visited the spot and assured the people that the problem will be solved soon.
