KATHUA, Sept 17: Expressing concern over yesterdays shootout at Govindsar by a faction of truckers in which one Excise Department guard was killed and three people sustained injuries, the irate residents of Rajbagh held a protest demonstration today and blocked the National Highway for one hour.
The protestors demanded immediate arrest of the kingpin of yesterday’s shootout failing which the people will intensify agitation.
Shouting slogans against the administration and police, they said that increasing lawlessness has become a cause of concern to the people and the same will not be tolerated.
Meanwhile, SSP Kathua Mohan Lal said that the police has intensified the drive to arrest the kingpin of the shoot out and his bank accounts have been seized. He said police is in touch with civil administration and his assts will also be seized in case he evades arrest.
