SRINAGAR, Apr 15: People today broke down a non-functional ATM machine for not having cash in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Residents angered by non-functioning of all the ATMs including JK Bank, SBI, HDFC and PNB in the entire district, broke down an ATM machine of JK Bank stationed at Hospital Road.
The locals also staged strong protest against all these banks and alleged that indifferent attitude has been shown with the people of Kupwara district.
They urged bank authorities to keep cash inside these machines if they are useless or remove them.
The protesters said that authorities should understand that people need cash all the time and such attitude by authorities can be proven detrimental in exigency situations.
