KATHUA, Aug 13: The inhabitants of Bani have expressed serious concern over lack of internet facilities from Lohang to picturesque Sarthal.
In a statement the residents of the area said that despite Sarthal being famous for pilgrimage as well as site seeing this hilly belt lacks the internet facilities right from Lohang. They said the area falls on Pathankot –Bhaderwah road falling on a distance of 40 kms from Bhaderwah.
Maintaining that Sarthal is no less in natural beauty than Kashmir and people even call it mini Kashmir which attracts tourists from various areas of the UT and neighboring states, Mudasir Ali a social activist of the area said lack of network facilities puts the visiting tourists to lot of problem.
He said in case of any accident people are put to many hardships due to lack of network as the area is totally delinked from rest of the world.
He said the internet has not become common in modern times but it is one of the basic necessities of life. In an appeal to Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh and Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha he sought their immediate intervention in installing a mobile tower in the area to get it fully connected with outer world.
