DUDU, June 14: The people from Dudu Sub Division of district Udhampur have urged upon the State Transport Minister and Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to ensure regular bus service between Udhampur, Ramnagar and Dudu.
Sarpanch Dudu Hans Raj said that the bus service between Ramnagar and Dudu is not regular. He said the Transport authorities are plying only one bus between Ramnagar and Dudu but unfortunately this bus is not regular. This remote area has been totally neglected in view of public transport facility as well. There is population over twenty thousand but only one bus service has been provided to this area via this route and it hardly visits once or twice a week.
This bus starts at 12 noon from Ramnagar and then reaches Dudu at 4 pm and then it leaves for Ramnagar next morning from Dudu town at 7 AM. This bus always remains over loaded. At least two bus services be provided to the area via Majori to Dudu and an additional ‘one day’ bus service be also provided between Ramnagar and Dudu to facilitate the employees working in this belt and students.
Sarpanch Panchot-II Girdhari Lal also demanded regular bus service between Udhampur-Ramnagar and Dudu and said that at least three buses should be provided to Dudu from Ramnagar via Majori. He said two Sumos and three private vans are also plying on this road as some locals are the owners of these vehicles. This is little relief to them but it is costly affair and people of the area mostly poor. The public is badly suffering. The mater has also brought to the notice of SDM and Tehsildar concerned.
The public from Basantgarh Sub Division also demanded two additional buses from Ramnagar to Basantgarh and additional bus service via from Chenani-Lati and Dudu side so that people of the area do not suffer. They said the Government employees and College going students of the area are baldy suffering. They sought the intervention of ARTO and Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
