Srinagar, Aug 7: People living along picturesque Kanispora-Singhpora road in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have appealed Government to repair and widen the road for the convenience of local populace.
Residents told Excelsior that the road is in dilapidated condition. They said that due to potholes, the rain water often accumulates over it. “It then turns into a mud filled road making difficult for the pedestrians to walk,” the local residents said.
Local Sarpanch, Amarjeet Singh, said: “We are facing lot of problems due to poor condition of this road. The worst sufferers are our school children and patients.” He said that not only the road is in poor condition; it also lacks smooth transport service. “Only sumo vehicles ply on this road,” he said.
The Sarpanch said that the locals several times apprised officials about the poor road connectivity “but they did not pay any heed”. He appealed Government to look into the problem faced by locals.
