People fed up of false promises: Malhotra

JAMMU, Nov 26: Congress candidate from Jammu East, Vikram Malhotra today said that the heavy turnout of the voters in the first phase of J&K Assembly polls indicates that people are fed up by the politics of false promises. He added that people have come out in support of development, good governance and inter-regional harmony.
Malhotra added that this was a clear signal that people of the State are wise enough to choose right people to represent them in the Legislative Assembly. He further said that people understand the tactics played by various parties to be-fool them with false promises and hollow slogans, which they take-up or drop as per their convenience. Time will tell them if there was any wave in their favour or not, he added.
Malhotra, who sped up his election campaign, interacted with the electorate in the localities of Gujjar Nagar, Parade (Sabzi Mandi), Jain Bazar, Panjtirthi (Ward No 1). He also opened election offices at Gujjar Nagar and Parade.
Vikram said that Congress is the only party which can satiate the urges and aspirations of all regions and sections of the State, and that it has the ability to take along all sections and regions of the State.
He appealed to electorate for strengthening the hands of Congress to ensure long lasting development and growth prospective.
He also started door-to-door campaign in Panjtirthi and assured locals that the problems of their areas including construction or repairs of lanes and drains, scarcity of potable water and erratic power supply would be addressed to.
