Demand restriction free inter-state movement

KATHUA, Oct 12: A massive protest demonstration was held by the activists of all political parties at Lakhanpur near here, today demanding opening of gate way of inter-state border at Lakhanpur for restriction free movement of the people.
The activists of all political parties participated in the protest held against the UT Government demanding opening of the gateway of Inter-State border at Lakhanpur for free movement of people.
Large number of the people drawn from Congress , Panthers Party, BJP ,  BSP and Lakhanpur Vikas Manch (LVM) a social organization marched to Lakhanpur and registered the strong  protest against UT Government. They were demanding the opening the gateway of Lakhanpur border for free movement as the business,  tourism industry,  students,  patients and laborers are being badly harassed and facing unwanted restrictions at the Gateway of Lakhanpur through the hands of officials.
Panthers Party leader, Robin Sharma said that all the borders of country have been opened but the UT Government has adopted dictatorial tactics in J&K.  All sections of the society are facing hardness to enter in the J&K.  Congress leader Parmjit Singh said that the farmers are waiting for laborers to harvest the paddy crop. But the UP, MP and Bihar based laborers are waiting at Lakhanpur from three to four days in deplorable conditions without food and water to get permission to enter with their children and families in J&K .  Congress leader Pankaj Kumar said that Lakhanpur has been turned a den of corruption.  The approachable and influential people are greasing the palm of staff are allowed to enter in J&K without test. But the poor people, patients and students studying in Punjab and job oriented youth are in depression due to stickiness at Lakhanpur. Sushil Gupta another leader said that despite no such restrictions were imposed in rest of country, the UT Government is playing with lives of people and harassing them unnecessarily which will not be tolerated at any cost.
Terming it a human rights violation he demanded that the UT Government should take the cognizance of Ministry of Home Affairs directions and open the border without any delay. The people of J&K are treated like prisoners.  They demanded to open the Inter-State border immediately as everyone is facing unwanted restrictions on the name of COVID-19. They warned the UT Government to face consequences if Lakhanpur border is not declared open for free movement of people immediately.
The protestors also tried to cross the gate way forcefully but were stopped by the police. Shouting slogans in support of their demand they warned to launch massive agitation in case there were further curbs on free movement of people via gateway of Lakhanpur. They alleged the action of administration has hit the people especially traders, farmers, industrialists and other business community members’ worst.
