People of Marwah, Warwan, Dacchan hold protest over denial of basic facilities

KISHTWAR, May 16: Marwah, Warwan and Dacchan committees today staged a protest over alleged denial of basic things of livelihood.
The protesters said that people are facing multiple problems due to slow pace of work going on Kishtwar-Marwah road via Dacchan. The protesting people also alleged that the residents of Marwah, Warwan and Dacchan are living without electricity, roads, and telephone connectivity.
The protesting committee members also said that residents of Marwah, Warwan and Dacchan areas are also deprived of other basic facilities like health, education, ration, etc.
The irritating committee members later in the form of a rally tried to move to mini secretariat Kishtwar, where the DDB meeting was going to held on today.
Meanwhile, MLC Firdous Ahmed Tak, reached on the spot and assured the protesters that the developmental works for the three regions are in pipeline and Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to work for the development of the far flung areas of district Kishtwar.
He informed that the roads, electricity and other infrastructure works are in pipeline. He further assured that the issue of settlement of permanent Government officials in three regions and providing adequate teaching faculty in the schools would be taken up with the chairman of District Development Board Meeting in Kishtwar.
